Perma Boost Raven with Damage Mod
« on: December 28, 2007, 07:12:45 am »
I've seen a few attempts at perma boosting a Raven, but most seem to use Cap Power Relays and also have no room left for damage mods.

Here is a setup I have been using with some success in L4 missions.

The two drone augs could be replaced with whatever you like. There is enough cpu and grid left for a pair of dual 250's. NOS is pointless in this setup because it perma runs anyway.

Now there are plenty of setups out there which tank more, but for a shorter time. Thats not what this setup is about :)

EFT stats:
EM: 48  Thermal: 59  Kinetic: 69  Explosive: 79
626 DPS tanked, forever

To perma run you need:
Energy Systems Operation 5
Energy Management 4
Shield Compensation 3 (maybe 2 is enough)

What do you think? (be nice :D)

I like this setup, but looks expensive. I'll give it try as soon as i can. Working my way up to soloing L4 missions.

nah, not that expensive ;)
I agree it is silly to use Cap power realy on a shield boosting ship. To make it easier to permarun (for noobs like me, or to get an extra lowslot etc) U could perhaps use passive hardeners instead of the active t2 cap-hungry invu-fields? I haven't liked any of the other permaarun-ravens I have seen. this one I liked! Thums up!

I have been looking for a loadout like this. Thank you, I will try it out as soon as I can get the mods.

Thanks for the positive comments :)

Stacking penalties to apply, but the second boost amp still gives a significant boost. I belive the second module of any stack-nerfed mod works at 66% of its capability, the third works at 33% and so on...

The hardeners could be swapped out for mission specific hardeners, or even passive hardeners if you're having problems making it prema run, but the amount of damage you can take might suffer a little.

Its not hugely expensive really
Raven 90m
CCC x3 60m
Arby launchers x6 30m
T2 mods x11 (around 2.5m each) 25m

So just over 200m total (very approximate lol)

i use ur setup with some minor changes even though ur setup probably will be my next step when my skills increase.. i still use heavy cap II instead of cap recharge and i only use 3 cap flux coils.. does this kill ur tank?

Flux coils unlike relays don't effect your tank which is why their used here.

While a cap booster will allow you to run your tank for along time, it does not count as a perma tank (to me anyway) because sooner or later you will run out of charges.

Also, if you are using a cap booster, then you could probably lose any cap-regen mods and fit more damage or resistance mods, but thats moving further away from what my setup is about.

Actively boosted cap setups like this are more commonly used in pvp where you often have to tank a LOT of damage, but only for a shorter time, or where you need to run additional mods like AB or MWD.

yeah, I wouldnt use a cap booster in PvE... It would probably work well, but then u would need to buy another charge, and income from the ratting/missioning would be smaller (an exeption would be lv. 5 missions or very hard deadspace complexes where u would meet heavy ressistance and the rewards would be overwhelming)

I finally was able to try this fit.  Due to my skills I had to tweak it a bit, but was finally able to make it run "perma" after I swapped out the BCS for another capacitor flux coil II.  This reduces my DPS, but I usually mission with a group so that's not much of a problem.  When my skill increases or I get an implant to help, I will re-fit the BCS.

I am going to  this one because it is a great fit even for those who are not Uber skilled like myself.

Superb Fit. I finally "Graduated" to this.

The skill requirement is not that great, cost is low(ish), easily in the reach of most solo mission runners. Apart from heavy Booster what would would peeps re-fit on this for small gang pvp?
