While the Hawk class can score the sheer amount of damage of a Galaxy class, its armament cycles much faster, allowing it to score repeated volleys against the target. Named "Shinzon's Regime" this first Manta Heavy Cruiser stands as a synthesis of the old and new Romulan design aesthetics, which proved it to be a capable warship with a more well-rounded arsenal when compared to other large Romulan warships. The Manta was also one of the first Romulan warships to make use of the far superior thaloron torpedo, along with it's 2 ventral mounted mega-heavy disruption bolt cannons. Description:	OUTALANCE SHIPYARDS Praetor Class Reman Bird of Prey Owner : Romulan Star Empire, Shinzon's Regime Class : Heavy Combat Vessel Availability : Uncommon Variant In Service : 2369 Out of Service n/a ----------------- This rarely seen variant of the V'dan Bird of Prey was used by Shinzon's Regime as an alpha strike unit to provide fire cover for capital ships. Considered feared fighters among the Romulan people, the Praetors crews were comprised solely of Reman warriors. In addition to it's heavier armour, the Praetor Class Bird of Prey incorperated twin light disruptors to it's arsenal of heavy disruptors and plasma torpedo launcher. The Praetor class also added two rear-mounted light plasma torpedoes. These weapons were installed to protect retreating Praetors from pursuing warships. Faster,more manueverable and more heavily armed and armoured than their Klingon contemporaries, the Praetor class can easily stand toe to toe with larger warships fielded by other races. The Romulan Star Empire made heavy use of the Praetor Class as Remans are often used as "cannon fodder" by the Romulans.
